In 2011, having just arrived in Europe after several years of University studies in Cuba, Prof. Famoso Salvador Rodriguez began to spread the Culture, Music and Dance of Cuban folklore.
At that time, folklore was not well known in Europe, especially the Franco-Haitiano folklore. Considering that the goal was not only to spread pure folklore but also to spread knowledge of Cuban dances and music to a wide audience, Prof. Famoso had to develop a STRATEGY. Thus, he could approach as many people as possible of different age groups through step sequences and simple and easily understood choreographic line dances for EVERYONE.
Another important factor is that many people want to learn to dance by having fun, not learning to dance by studying in a dance school. Hence it comes the desire to entertain all those who want to dance without committing themselves to a dance school. This is why Prof. Famoso decided to perform ENTERTAINMENT.
After studying in Italy (one of the countries where line dances are most practiced) the fundamental concepts of how to create a line dance and who to address it to, Prof. Famoso classifies the group line dances into two subgroups: LINE DANCE and ANIMATION LINE DANCE.

WHAT IS BAILATON?
Over the years Cuban popular music is being influenced by new digital sounds that have composed and created a new genre called “Urbano” (Cubaton). As of today, Cuban Urban music is spreading through very young singers who are having good success in the Caribbean Island and Miami.
Within this urban genre is the so-called “REPARTO“, which is a new musical style totally different to reggaeton because of its musical base. As well, the dancers created a new repertoire of movements that are fused with folklore and reggaeton and, in turn, are adapted to the musical base.
BAILATON was born from the fusion of two names, BAILA MALTA (dance school with its academic section dedicated to the study of Cuban Dances) and the CUBATON (new musical trend that summarizes all modern urban genres).
BAILATON introduces within the group animation line dance section. This new repertoire of urban steps mixed with reggaeton, salsa, etc.
This line of choreographic dance is dedicated more to a young audience with different levels of difficulty and intensity (dance school learning).
The purpose is to offer ENTERTAINMENT fused with Caribbean music and movements.
We provide BAILATON service for different events such as STAFF PARTIES, BIRTHDAY PARTIES, HOTELS.
We operate in Malta and Gozo area. We are also available for International private events that require HIGH impact and FUN entertainment.
